Schlachter Modern Linear Pool

The Schlachter residence called for a pool that would anchor a contemporary backyard without competing with the home's clean architecture. We designed a linear pool that stretches across the yard, its simple geometry and uncluttered lines reflecting the minimalist aesthetic the clients wanted. The overflow spa sits at one end, creating subtle visual interest while maintaining the modern character.

Water management became a design feature here. We detailed the travertine coping to sit flush with the pool deck, so the waterline reads as a continuous ribbon rather than a traditional rim. This approach demanded precision in the shell and careful grading, but it delivers the seamless look the design demanded.

The ipe wood decking surrounds the pool with warm, clean lines that contrast the cool water and stone. Ipe is dense and naturally resistant to rot and weathering, so it ages gracefully without the maintenance burden of softer woods. The deck material choice reinforces the contemporary palette while solving the practical demands of Atlanta's humid climate.
