Miner Award-Winning Outdoor Living

This Marietta outdoor living space earned recognition at the 2018 APSP Awards for its thoughtful integration of multiple functional zones across a sloped lot. The design steps down the terrain, creating distinct areas for entertaining, dining, and relaxation while maintaining sight lines and flow between each level.

The vanishing-edge spa serves as the visual anchor, appearing to spill into the landscape beyond. Its placement at the highest point commands attention while the built-in grill and dining area occupy the middle zone, designed for gatherings and meal preparation without interrupting the spa's visual prominence.

Flagstone throughout the project creates continuity across all levels while its natural texture and color palette ground the design in the Atlanta landscape. The material choices and grading work together to manage water flow and create seamless transitions between entertaining zones.

This award-winning design demonstrates how skilled grading, material selection, and spatial planning transform a challenging slope into a cohesive outdoor living environment. Every element serves both form and function, creating spaces that work as hard as they look.
